President of a public affairs consulting firm providing advocacy, marketing,
and communications services. Affiliated with Fleishman-Hillard Government Relations beginning in 2002.


Plexus Consulting Group

Washington, D.C. 2000-2002

Managing partner of the government and public affairs practice of a small consulting company. Major clients included the government of Iceland, Space Station Associates, and the Institute of Internal Auditors.


United States Senate

Washington, D.C. 1975-1981

Legislative assistant to Senator Frank Church of Idaho, handling complex and controversial natural resource issues and many other legislative initiatives. Helped create the largest wilderness area in the lower 48 states.



Cambridge, Massachusetts 1971-75

Massachusetts Institute of Technology Pursued an interdisciplinary program of study leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering (awarded in February 1976).
